Introduction
Cutaneous scarring following surgical procedures, deep burns or skin trauma is unavoidable. Clinicians are familiar with patients’ concern for scars that may cause pain, soreness, itching, restriction of movement, compromised aesthetic appearance, and reduced quality of life 1. Modulation of the wound healing process may hold the key to minimize formation of scar tissue. Laser exposure introduced within 3 months after wounding, thus targeting the early wound healing process, has been attempted to improve subsequent scar formation.
