PROGRAM
A. ELECTRO- AND PHOTO-THERAPY:
 
1. Electrotherapy. Types of electric current, Galvanization, iontophoresis, treatment by low frequency impulse current, dia-dynamo-therapy, medium frequency currents (sinusoidal modulated and interference current), high frequency currents - D’Arsonvalization, diathermy, ultra-high frequency therapy, decimetre current, centimetric current (micro-waves).
 
2. Photo-therapy. Physical characteristics of the sunlight energy spectrum. Physical lows. General biologic effects of the light, Bactericide effect of the photo-energy. Erythema! reaction. Pigmentation. Desensibilizing effect of the ultra-violet rays. Effect of the photo-energy on the metabolism and the different organs and systems. Treatment by ultra-violet rays. Prophylactics. Photo-pathology. Apparatuses: characteristics and composition of the different sources of light and techniques of application. Indications and contraindications for prophylactics and treatment by the different spectrums of the photo-energy.
 
3. Aerosolo-therapy ~aero-iono-therapy and electro-iono-tkerapy - definition and content, devices, mechanism of action, indications and contraindications,
 
4. Ultrasound therapy - physical basics, physiologic effect, indications and contraindications.
 
B. HYDROTHERAPY AND THERMOTHERAPY.
 
Physical characteristics of the materials used in hydro-thermo-therapy. Physiologic changes developing in the organism under the influence of the thermal factor of the water. Problems of the thermoregulation. Hydrotherapy reaction. Methods and techniques of flic different kinds of hydrotherapeutic procedures.
 
® treatment baths, characteristics, dosage, methods and techniques of application;
 
® treatment showers, characteristics, dosage, methods and techniques of application;
 
• hydrotherapeutic procedures with increased mechanical and chemical effect, unnatural pharmaceutical treatment baths, preparation, mechanism of action;
 
® specific hydrotherapeutic procedures, i.e. Haufe’s baths, subaqual-intestinal baths etc.;
 
® small hydrotherapeutic procedures - frictions, outpours, wraps, compresses etc.;
 
« pool-bathing - methodic, performance laws.
 
Thermotherapy - dry and moisture methods of thermotherapy, paraffin therapy, ozokerith therapy, sand-therapy. Physico-chemical and biological characteristics, methods and techniques of application, specific physiologic effect, dosage, Compatibility and incompatibility of the hydrotherapy with other physical factors.
 
Kriotherapy - mechanisms of action, indications and contraindications.
 
C. HEALTH RESORT REHABILITATION
 
1. Balneology and balneotherapy. Definition, matter and aims of the balneologic science.
 
Development of the empirical and scientifical balneology, balneotherapy and balneo-prophylactics. Recent significance of the balneology and its place between the other branches of the physical medicine and the general therapy.
 
Mineral waters. Definition. Source, hydro-geologic, physico-chemical and microbiologic formation of the mineral waters. Physico-chemical characteristics of the mineral waters - hydro-geologic and medico-balneologic. Classification and systematics of die mineral waters - genetic-hydro-geologic and medico-balneologic. Classification criterions. Balneo-techniques.
 
Acting factors of the mineral water. Mechanisms of physiologic, treatment and prophylactic effects (specific and nonspecific, general and local) on the organism. Balneo-reaction. General indicationa and contraindications for balneotherapy with mineral water.
 
Methods of application - drinking, baths and pools, inhalations, emanization, irritations, (stomatologic, intestinal, gynecologic etc.), showers, subaqual gymnastics. Schemes and dosage of the balneotherapy.
 
Complex balneotherapy and balneo-prophylaxis. Compatibility and incompatibility of the hydrotherapy with other physical factors and treatment methods. Baheo-climatology. Balneology and rehabilitation.
